IPVC Engages Young Learners in Two WINd Training Seminars in Viana do Castelo

The Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) hosted two WINd Training Seminars in early October 2025, introducing university students to the WINd project, its goals, and the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) designed to support learning in the renewable energy sector.

The first seminar took place on 1 October 2025 at the School of Education (ESE) in Viana do Castelo, gathering 66 students from three different academic courses. Presented by Beatriz Lima and António Curado, the session offered an engaging introduction to the WINd initiative, its European partnership, and the opportunities it provides for skill development. A live demonstration of the MOOC showed participants how to access, navigate, and learn from the platform’s three Learning Units.

The second seminar was held on 8 October 2025 at the School of Technology and Management (ESTG), with 85 students in attendance. Building on the first event’s experience, this session adopted a more technical approach, going deeper into the MOOC’s structure and content. Students explored each chapter in detail, gaining a clearer understanding of how the course supports upskilling and transition into the wind energy sector.

Both events demonstrated strong interest and curiosity among young learners, underlining the importance of digital learning tools in promoting renewable energy education and green career awareness.
